March 1st, 2014 Meeting

Due to the graciousness of Talon Range, we're holding our monthly meetings in either the lounge or the classroom on the first Saturday of every month, at 5pm (until further notice).

This month's meeting will be this Saturday, March 1st.  Bring a friend.  If you'd like to shoot after our short meeting and you're not yet a Talon member, you can claim to be Ivan's guest and pay Talon's Pro Shop $10 after check-in.

To save yourself valuable daylight and range time, visit Talon Range online first, watch their videos, print out and complete their test at home and present it when checking in with the Talon Pro-Shop after our short meeting.

The agenda for this month's meeting will be two simple items:

1) Specific training classes; and

2) The CSPOA resolution that we'll be actively promoting signage of, to not only all citizens, but especially all those in public service.  This is extremely important, as it represents proven strategic nonviolent struggle methods of protest, noncooperation and refusal of public support.

Sheriff Nick Finch of Liberty County was one of the first signatories and this month we'll be working to get more sheriffs to take the same course.  If an individual wouldn't sign it, then what does that say about him or her?

CSPOA January 2014 Resolution

The following was drafted at a meeting of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) on Jan 24, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada and approved by the members present.  We encourage all sheriffs, peace officers and those in public office to sign with us. We also welcome the signatures of all other U.S. citizens.

To add your name, download a printable version, print it, sign it, scan it and submit it here.

Resolution
Of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association

Pursuant to the powers and duties bestowed upon us by our citizens, the undersigned do hereby resolve that any Federal officer, agent, or employee, regardless of supposed congressional authorization, is required to obey and observe limitations consisting of the enumerated powers as detailed within Article 1 Section 8 of the U S Constitution and the Bill Of Rights.

The people of these united States are, and have a right to be, free and independent, and these rights are derived from the “Law of Nature and nature’s God.” As such, they must be free from infringements on the right to keep and bear arms, unreasonable searches and seizures, capricious detainments and every other natural right whether enumerated or not, pursuant to the 9th amendment.

We further reaffirm that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people” (10th amendment).

Furthermore, we maintain that no agency established by the U S Congress can develop its own policies or regulations which supersede the Bill of Rights or the Constitution, nor does the executive branch have the power to make law, overturn law or set aside law.

Therefore, in order to protect the American people, BE IT RESOLVED THAT,
The following abuses will not be allowed or tolerated:

1) Registration of personal firearms under any circumstances.

2) Confiscation of firearms without probable cause, due process, and constitutionally compliant warrants issued by a local or state jurisdiction.

3) Audits or searches of a citizen’s personal affairs or finances without probable cause, and due process, and constitutionally compliant warrants issued by a local or state jurisdiction.

4) Inspections of person or property without probable cause and constitutionally compliant warrants as required by the 4th Amendment and issued by a local or state jurisdiction.

5) The detainment or search of citizens without probable cause and proper due process compliance, or the informed consent of the citizen.

6) Arrests with continued incarcerations without charges and complete due process, including, but not limited to public and speedy jury trials, in a court of state or local jurisdiction.

7) Domestic utilization of our nation’s military or federal agencies operating under power granted under the laws of war against American citizens.

8) Arrest of citizens or seizure of persons or property without first notifying and obtaining the express consent of the local sheriff.

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,
that the undersigned Sheriffs, Peace Officers, and other Public Servants, do hereby denounce any acts or agencies which promote the aforementioned practices. All actions by the Federal Government and its agents will conform strictly and implicitly with the principles expressed within the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights.

There is no greater obligation or responsibility of any government officer than to protect the rights of the people. Thus, any conduct contrary to the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence, or the Bill of Rights will be dealt with as criminal activity.

Paul Henry: Liberty Lobbyist & local Oath Keeper

Why We Need Liberty Lobbyists:
libertyfirstfl.org/?page_id=193

About Paul Henry:
Paul Henry served as a Florida Deputy Sheriff and State Trooper for over 25 years.  During his employment with the Florida Highway Patrol, he investigated numerous traffic crashes and worked as a traffic homicide investigator.  He later promoted to the rank of Sergeant and supervised traffic homicide investigators and at the same time, a squad of troopers.  His final five years with the FHP prior to retirement were in the Bureau of Investigations at the rank of Lieutenant, where in 2003 he located one of Florida's most wanted fugitives that had been involved in the 1976 murder of a Florida Trooper and a Canadian Constable riding with the Trooper.

After retirement from law enforcement, Paul currently lobbies for pro-liberty political issues in the Tallahassee area, to include the repeal of driver license (REAL ID) and red light camera laws.  He was the author of the Florida Motorist Rights Restoration Act, which if enacted would have affected how red light camera cases were handled in court.  He has researched the use of red light cameras in Florida since 2011 and performed numerous analysis work based upon crash data, operational, legal, and other concerns.  He has spoken to citizen groups and elected officials on the issue, and was instrumental in getting Collier County, Florida to reconsider their use of the camera scheme and ultimately discontinue it.  He has authored a web page entitled Red Light Camera Reference Page” that contains his analysis work and other relevant information.  Paul is an advocate of constitutional law enforcement.

Who are we?

Just in case anyone in the North Florida/South Georgia area is wondering:

We are Oath Keepers (O.K.).

We ARE pro-government.
We are NOT anti-government.

We are in favor of law and order.
We abhor crime and tyranny.
We are like minded Americans seeking positive change.

We're a non-partisan gathering of former and actively serving military, law enforcement, firefighters and EMS -as well as those that have never served in official capacity.
Our primary goal is to remind those actively serving of the sacred oath they swore: "...to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...".

Oath Keepers is focused on actions.
We are about doing.
Doing is easier than talking about doing.

Oath Keepers is grass roots (bottom-up).  We share essential skill sets (eg. food, water, medical, communication, construction, pastoral, legal, etc.).

Oath Keepers treasures the core values that America was built upon.  We are inclusive, as opposed to exclusive.  We'll greet you with a smile and a handshake, too... no secret handshake required.

Oath Keepers promotes and encourages neighborhood watch groups.

FYI: Weekend afternoon meetings at Talon Range are in our future so view their videos, print out and complete their test at home and bring it with you to save yourself time in the Pro-Shop.

Feel free to drop in on a meeting (check the Calendar on the right) and bring your skills and ideas.  Also, bring others who may be interested in what we're doing.

Thanks for your support,
Ivan, an oath keeper

The "Rally in Tally" was a SUCCESS!

Oath Keepers from as far away as Pasco and DeSoto counties drove themselves to Tallahassee WITH NOT MUCH NOTICE at all.  -Amazing show of support from OK at this rally.  We were glad to have the opportunity to support fellow patriots.  -We met up with some great speakers... such as Patrick Henry himself (Harry McKay, but I swear: a spiritual experience), Sheriff Mack, Billie Vaughn (father of Seal Team 6 Aaron Vaughn, killed in Afghanistan, again: WOW! What a strong message Pres.Obama REALLY doesn't want America to hear!), Pastor Chris Hall (great speech), Mike Austell (FL O.K. Pres. -patriotism personified), Karen Schoen (what a great non-"PC" firecracker!) and there were many others that made it a treat to listen to also.  I hope our reps got the message, but we'll stay on them regardless. A lot of us met up afterwards at Jalisco's for good mexican food and beer. -Good times!!  Then everyone had to get back on the road.  If you can get to these events (including these great after-rally dinners), DO IT!! It's the fuel we use to keep going and it lasts a good, long while. We look forward to meeting each other (and new faces) each and every time.  -Good people and great times!!
-Ivan, an oath keeper
PS. Special thanks to Ray & Harry

Success is measured in many ways. Our objective was to “keep the ball in play and moving forward”.  And we certainly did!  Due to global warming (or NOT) and the resulting cold weather, the Capitol Authorities moved our event inside. This was hugely appreciated by all. We had over 150 attendees who were strongly committed to protecting our 2nd Amendment in every way possible, including State Sovereignty.  The 11 speakers included keynote speaker Sheriff Richard Mack.

All the speakers (you can read more about each of them on the Florida Citizens’ Alliance website) were very well received. Each of them was a great messenger for liberty.  We will be posting individual videos on our website as soon we can get them edited.

Multiple media folks also attended.  We know the Rally was reported in Naples on the 5 o’clock TV news and this morning in Hillsborough County on the radio. Hopefully it was reported in your area as well.

The only two downsides were that Senator Greg Evers just didn’t show (and didn’t offer a reason) and that Governor Scott was unable to talk to us briefly when we stopped by his office. We were not able to schedule an official meeting ahead of this event, but we did alert his staff and hoped he would take 5 minutes to affirm his personal commitment to the Second Amendment and State Sovereignty under our Constitution.

All in all, the Rally exceeded most of our expectations, but our work continues. Rep. Dane Eagle has committed to file the 2nd Amendment Preservation (2AP) bill in the House, consistent with the content provided to him in September. Once done, we will need Senator Evers to honor his commitment to file it in the Senate, or find a Senator who will champion it. Go to our website and urge them to file 2AP now!

In your local counties/districts (once the bill is filed), we will be asking you to:
  • Encourage your local legislators to co-sponsor the bill
  • Meet with your sheriff to ask the simple question “Are you ready to stand for Liberty?”
We will also be asking you to reach out to key legislative Committee Members and Chairs to support this bill.  Lastly, we will need strong attendance at the key committee hearings as they are scheduled.

We’ll continue to provide you with updates and contact tools on the Florida Citizens’ Alliance website.  Please forward this email to anyone you know who might be willing to stand with us in support of this effort.  Encourage them to subscribe to our mailing list right there on the website’s home page.

Thank you for your support!

Leon, Jefferson, Liberty, Wakulla, Gadsden & Franklin Counties:

Attention: The post below is a very old post and is no longer our monthly meeting place or time.  Our main monthly meetings are held at Talon Range at 5pm on the first Saturday of every month (usually in the classroom).  All are welcome to attend.  Bring a friend.  (Again, the post below is not current and is only where we first held our meetings.)

Our first multi-county Oath Keeper meeting will be at:

 7:00pm, Tuesday, January 7th, 2014.

501 E. College Ave.  Tallahassee, FL 32301

 (Park behind the building)

As a rule, we'll be meeting at the same place, the same time, on the first Tuesday of every month, unless there's a change. (eg. New Year's Eve, etc).

To see the when, where and what, use the "Calendar" or "Get Updates" icon on the right side panel. >>

This month will be an introductory meeting, so obviously, there are many specific items to discuss (to include your individual input).  With your participation, this'll be a formative and productive meeting as we begin working together on the operational Oath Keeper mission.

Among other issues on the agenda, we'll be discussing the recent conference call the Florida leaders had with Stewart Rhodes.  For instance, how we'll be taking positive peaceful action within our own communities, such as starting effective neighborhood watch groups that can be self-reliant in times of trouble/natural disaster (as opposed the present "top down" alternative that's proven ineffective at best).  In most every neighborhood, there already exists a variety of resourceful skill-sets and the genuine human desire to help each other.

Bring a friend, preferably one with skills and ideas.  We'll have membership applications with receipts there if they want to join.  Membership is $40.

We'll have black, long sleeve Oath Keeper T-shirts, Florida versions of these.  (No, they're not free.  They make a little money for the chapter, but members do get a discount).  There's only one 2XL left, so the first member to show up and buy it takes it home.  Pocket Constitutions are two for a buck, but members can pick them up at just a quarter each (which is my cost).

We will have a pretty full agenda to cover, so please make sure you arrive on time.

See you all there,
Ivan, an oath keeper
