In the photo here are Rosa Parks and Adrian Wyllie.
Ms. Parks, a 42 year old seamstress is shown being booked in 1955 for
not moving to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama when a law
required black Americans to do so. On that day, she had moved once and
then as the bus filled up, she refused when asked to move again. Ms.
Parks was arrested and considered by some at the time to be an outlaw.
As time moved on she was properly recognized as someone that stood on
principle against a terrible law. She was convicted of this “crime” and
appealed. Things did not end there- in 1956 she along with 88 others
were indicted for boycotting the bus system. Later that year, the US
Supreme Court ruled segregation on buses was unconstitutional, and a
month later the law in Alabama was changed.
Adrian Wyllie is running for Governor of Florida. In 2014, he was
stopped by police in Pinellas County for no traffic violation but rather
after an officer checked his license plate and saw his driver license
was expired. In 2011, Mr. Wyllie decided to take a stand against the federal REAL ID law as enacted in Florida. The law was signed
by former Republican Governor Charlie Crist in 2008 and current
Republican Governor Rick Scott has done nothing to help Floridians-
other than convicted felons, who now get a taxpayer-funded REAL ID-
get any relief from the law. Mr. Wyllie was arrested and booked as Ms.
Parks had been. When he went to contest the ticket in court, the judge
improperly ruled he could not use a constitutional defense, so he was
convicted. A Miami Herald news story was headlined “Meet Adrian Wyllie, the outlaw Libertarian in Florida’s governor’s race“.
As a fan of westerns, when I see the word outlaw, I think of the
person that robbed a bank or stagecoach, or shot someone in the back. In
other words, someone that harmed others by taking their property or
their life. As a retired law enforcement officer, I’m also familiar with
this term having worked ID theft, driver license fraud, and homicide
fugitive cases prior to retirement. In each of these, someone was
harmed. Ms. Parks harmed no one by sitting where she did on the bus. Mr.
Wyllie, who does not object to having a Florida driver license but does object to REAL ID, did not harm anyone either. In the Pinellas County stop, he had not violated any traffic laws but rather was singled out.
The parallel here is principle. When there is a bad law on the books,
we as citizens have two options- comply or refuse to comply. If we
refuse to comply, the road ahead is difficult, as the force of
government can be used against us as it was Ms. Parks and now is being
used against Mr. Wyllie.
Mr. Wyllie is a breath of fresh air for the Governor’s race in
Florida, where among the many things the other two candidates have in
common is a very low voter approval rating based upon their records.
Both Democrat and Republican party loyalists have accused Mr Wyllie of
being a “spoiler” to draw votes so the opposing party can win the
election. I’d ask them what spoiler registers to run prior to the
others, and what spoiler is willing to stand on principle even to the
point of being jailed? I salute Mr. Wyllie for taking a stand on
principle, and look forward to having a Governor that will do so for
Florida. We’re overdue for one. I’m inserting one of my favorite videos
as another piece of history from which to learn:
A study by Princeton University has
gone viral about the state of our current government. They found that
special interest, large corporations and politicians who cater to
wealthy elitists have control of our country. As I say this to you I
know what you are saying: “I didn't need Princeton to tell me that.”
We all know that they are right but what they don’t know is that in
Florida there is a solution. We are the solution. The Liberty First
Network and the grassroots activists that we have built a relationship
with has changed this equation in our state. We have proven time and
time again that we can beat the special interests, corporations and
corrupt politicians.
Not long ago, I felt compelled to address the idea of self defense as a moral imperative in an article titled “Violence In The Face Of Tyranny Is Often Necessary.”
My intention was to perhaps undo some of the propaganda conditioning
that Americans have suffered over the decades that has taught them that
“all” forms of violent action are “immoral”, including the defense of
one’s person, one’s property, and one’s freedom.
The recent uprising at Bundy Ranch in Bunkerville, Nev., confirmed my
predictions that many Americans are tired of playing by rules chartered
by the establishment and are ready to take measures outside of the
boundaries set by the system. The reality is that change will never come
without consequence and cost, and when faced with an entrenched
tyranny, if the citizenry cannot present the threat of physical
consequence to their oppressors, the oppressors have no motivation to
relinquish power.
To use the schoolyard analogy yet again, it is a fact of life that
the class bully will not leave a victim in peace because he is
enthralled with the feeling of power over others. The bully will not
stop because he has no incentive. Protesting only encourages him. Using
the system as a shield only amuses him. Logic and reason only anger him.
Punching the bully in the teeth is the only incentive he will respect.
If you show that you can disrupt a tyrant’s abuse of power anytime you
wish, if you show that you can hurt him back, only then will he take you
seriously.
“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you.” ― Pericles
In the photo above, the description of it on Wikipedia reads in part: “The Dachau camp was created for holding political opponents."
The camp opened in Germany in 1933 and operated until liberated in
April 1945. Students of history will recall the first camps opened
immediately after Hitler became chancellor of Germany in 1933. One
prisoner in the camps was Pastor Martin Niemöller, who is famous for writing about German citizen inaction in politics:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
An
expired driver’s license typically demands a routine trip to the tag
agency and the accompanying annoyances – waiting in line, paying renewal
fees, and posing awkwardly for a picture. Most Oklahomans, however, do
not know just how much personal information they are sharing when they
smile for the digital camera. The high-resolution photographs taken for
Oklahoma driver’s licenses and identification cards actually contain
biometric data: unique information that can be used to identify you
based on your facial features. The information gathered includes
physical signatures like iris recognition data containing color or
texture patterns, and a digital image that is compatible with facial
recognition programs used by law enforcement.
In response, a Cleveland County resident filed a lawsuit against the
Oklahoma Department of Public Safety objecting to the collection and
storage of this biometric data as a condition to drive a car in
Oklahoma. According to the petition, a DPS agent denied the plaintiff’s
application for a driver’s license renewal when the plaintiff refused,
on religious grounds, to allow a high-resolution biometric facial
photograph to be taken of her. The plaintiff now asserts a violation of
the Oklahoma Religious Freedom Act, which forbids government entities
from substantially burdening a person’s free exercise of religion,
unless that burden is essential to a compelling governmental interest.
The reasons the State of Oklahoma has produced to justify the mandatory
collection of biometric data fall considerably short of this standard.
The REAL ID Act is a law passed by Congress in 2005. It
makes the States change the way they issue ID cards and driver licenses. It
imposes numerous requirements on the states, and more importantly the citizens
of those states. Here in Florida, what this means is when you go to renew your
driver license or change your name (such as due to divorce, marriage, etc.) you
have to provide a laundry list of documents. These include but are not limited
to certified copies of your birth certificate or passport, your Social Security
card, proof of address such as your power/utility bill, your mortgage coupon
book, etc. All of the details have been laid out by the State of Florida on a
website called Gather Go Get. Once you have provided
this information, which is seized in violation of the 4th Amendment,
it is then scanned into a database and retained by the state. By Federal law
(the REAL ID Act), this information is to be shared with other states.
I started warning people 5 years ago that this would happen. The
US military is being purged and made defunct, while the networks of
internal Stasi organizations are growing by leaps and bounds.
You have to ask yourself why this would be necessary and be needed by the elite;
1. An "international" force will supplement the US armed forces, meaning
our sovereignty will be given to a world government or collaboration of
superpowers. We will no longer be required to fight wars because we
will no longer be allowed to protect ourselves as a sovereign nation.
2. Internal security will be the replacement battlefield where the
federal government will view the people as the enemy and will require
surveillance, armament, and tactics necessary to control and keep a
population against their will, subjugating them to a system of
government that exists as a tyrannical technocracy.
Both of these approaches will see foreign troops on US soil and the
necessity by those collaboration of forces to engage and defeat any
citizen who is not "with the program". Those who cannot be reeducated
will simply be executed.
In
our last newsletter we stated that Sheriff Mack was traveling with some
others to offer support to the Bundy family at their Ranch in Nevada.
OK, actually there was one place where we mistakenly said 'Brady'
instead of 'Bundy' and believe us, our web guy heard from you about that
one. Nothing this significant ever happened on an episode of 'The Brady
Bunch'. But we digress. Here is Richard Mack's firsthand account of
what occurred at the BUNDY Ranch.

The Bundy Siege Report:
As
previously reported, I went to the Bundy Ranch last weekend. I was
accompanied by my son Jimmy, Wendy Larchick (a lawyer) and her father
Gale (a retired police officer). We all drove together from Mesa, Az to
Bunkerville, NV. As we neared "ground zero" we became frustrated by
the horrible stop-and-go traffic. While sitting on the I-15 freeway I
received a call from one of our CSPOA members who had arrived the day
before. He was on the front lines of the 150 or so crowd of men and
women who were marching towards the makeshift BLM corral to free the
Bundy cattle. Come what may, he and the others were determined to set
the cattle free. This CSPOA member was a 15-year law enforcement
veteran and understood the gravity of the situation in which he had
voluntarily placed himself.

April 15, 2014
Judge Andrew Napolitano told Fox News today that he was “fearful” of
what might happen next in the Cliven Bundy dispute, noting that Senator
Harry Reid’s assertion that the situation is “not over” could be an
ominous sign.
“I’m actually a little fearful because although the
government appears to have backed down now, their local mouthpiece
Senator Harry Reid said it’s not over,” said Napolitano, referring to
comments Reid made yesterday.
Bunkerville, NEVADA, April 14, 2014– As reported yesterday,
hundreds of federal agents are still at the Bundy Ranch and the area
continues its status as a no-fly zone. Despite major media reports that
the Nevada Bureau of Land Management is retreating, the remaining
activity that still surrounds the ranch illustrates a different
scenario.
Nevada State Rep. Michele Fiore (a strong patriot who has attended many
of our meetings) is on site right now at the protest site outside the
Bundy ranch, and she is helping us assemble a coalition of Nevada
state legislators. We are also working with WA State Rep Matt Shea
to put together a delegation of other Western State Representatives to
go there to support Rep. Fiore and her coalition, and we are working
with Sheriff Mack to bring a delegation of current serving CSPOA
Sheriffs to stand vigil there. We need Oath Keepers to also show up
and stand vigil and support this family and the patriot legislators and
sheriffs who are taking the lead in defending them. This is critical.
The goal is to stand vigil to prevent another Waco or Ruby Ridge, and
to put pressure on the Nevada Governor to honor the oath he took by
standing up for this family and for the state of Nevada.
I fly to Vegas tomorrow. Sheriff Mack is coming too, along with the current serving Sheriffs he is rallying to the cause.
All who can make it, need to be there. We need numbers - boots on the ground. The more the better.
For those who are coming, please rally at the public protest site near
the ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada. To get there, take I-15 North,
toward Mesquite, and get off at exit 112. Go right two miles (you can
only go right). You will see tall flag poles and signs. Can't miss
it.
Per Ammon Bundy, here are some rules:
First, NO MILITARY CAMMO. This is a protest by rural Americans. Dress
accordingly. (from me: Oath Keepers can wear Oath Keepers polos if
you have them, or OK T shirts, but please no cammo. Let's respect the
Bundy family request).
No open carry of rifles. Any rifles people may have with them need to stay in the vehicles.
A Delegation of state legislators, lead by Washington
State Representative Matt Shea, along with a delegation of current
serving Sheriffs, lead by Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional
Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, and military and police
members of Oath Keepers, are converging on the site of a stand-off
between federal law enforcement and Nevada Rancher Cliven Bundy, to
prevent bloodshed and to stand in defense of hardworking rural
Americans who are under assault by a runaway federal government.
Oath Keepers is calling for Boots On The Ground. Because this is a
federal incursion we are calling for volunteers from all over America.
Anyone who can, please get to Nevada ASAP. Please see our press release
at above link for details. Stewart Rhodes is on a jet right now (
Thursday morning, April 10, 2014) and will arrive there this afternoon.
Early reports indicate a ground-swell of Patriots is building already
on-site. This is a mobilization, with Sheriffs, Legislators,
organization leaders, Patriots of all sorts, and especially Oath
Keepers!, all showing up to stand united on the land.
LOGISTICS
Oath Keepers is asking all who cannot make the trip to the Bundy
Ranch in Nevada to assist this mobilization by donating for food and
water for the “Boots On The Ground” who will stand to oppose the idiocy
of the BLM/federal government. Whatever you can send will be a blessing
for the Patriots out there in the Nevada landscape. Just as in any
military combat operation, the supply lines are extremely important for
victory. You are the logistical support for those on the front line.
Please know that your generosity is as important as the presence of the
Patriots who are standing out there on the land. And also remember,
whether you can donate for the logistics or not, your prayers for our
victory are also important. Spread the word. Share the link.
With Oath Keepers’ gratitude and appreciation, please pitch in here:
Due to the graciousness of Talon Range, we're holding our monthly meetings in either the lounge or the classroom on the first Saturday of every month, at 5pm (until further notice).
This month's meeting will be this Saturday, March 1st. Bring a friend. If you'd like to shoot after our short meeting and you're not yet a Talon member, you can claim to be Ivan's guest and pay Talon's Pro Shop $10 after check-in.
To save yourself valuable daylight and range time, visit Talon Range online first, watch their videos, print out and complete their test at home and present it when checking in with the Talon Pro-Shop after our short meeting.
The agenda for this month's meeting will be two simple items:
1) Specific training classes; and 2) TheCSPOA resolution that we'll be actively promoting signage of, to not only all citizens, but especially all those in public service. This is extremely important, as it represents provenstrategic nonviolent struggle methods of protest, noncooperation and refusal of public support.
Sheriff Nick Finch of Liberty County was one of the first signatories and this month we'll be working to get more sheriffs to take the same course. If an individual wouldn't sign it, then what does that say about him or her?
CSPOA January 2014 Resolution
The following was drafted at a meeting of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) on Jan 24, 2014 in Las Vegas,
Nevada and approved by the members present. We encourage all sheriffs, peace officers and those in public office to sign with us. We also welcome the signatures of all other U.S. citizens. To add your name, download a printable version, print it, sign it, scan it and submit it here.
Resolution
Of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association
Pursuant to the powers and duties bestowed upon us by our citizens, the
undersigned do hereby resolve that any Federal officer, agent, or
employee, regardless of supposed congressional authorization, is
required to obey and observe limitations consisting of the enumerated
powers as detailed within Article 1 Section 8 of the U S Constitution
and the Bill Of Rights.
The people of these united States are, and have a right to be, free
and independent, and these rights are derived from the “Law of Nature
and nature’s God.” As such, they must be free from infringements on the
right to keep and bear arms, unreasonable searches and seizures,
capricious detainments and every other natural right whether enumerated
or not, pursuant to the 9th amendment.
We further reaffirm that “The powers not delegated to the United
States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are
reserved to the states respectively, or to the people” (10th amendment).
Furthermore, we maintain that no agency established by the U S
Congress can develop its own policies or regulations which supersede the
Bill of Rights or the Constitution, nor does the executive branch have
the power to make law, overturn law or set aside law.
Therefore, in order to protect the American people, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, The following abuses will not be allowed or tolerated:
1) Registration of personal firearms under any circumstances.
2) Confiscation of firearms without probable cause, due process, and
constitutionally compliant warrants issued by a local or state
jurisdiction.
3) Audits or searches of a citizen’s personal affairs or finances
without probable cause, and due process, and constitutionally compliant
warrants issued by a local or state jurisdiction.
4) Inspections of person or property without probable cause and
constitutionally compliant warrants as required by the 4th Amendment and
issued by a local or state jurisdiction.
5) The detainment or search of citizens without probable cause and
proper due process compliance, or the informed consent of the citizen.
6) Arrests with continued incarcerations without charges and complete
due process, including, but not limited to public and speedy jury
trials, in a court of state or local jurisdiction.
7) Domestic utilization of our nation’s military or federal agencies
operating under power granted under the laws of war against American
citizens.
8) Arrest of citizens or seizure of persons or property without first
notifying and obtaining the express consent of the local sheriff.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,
that the undersigned Sheriffs, Peace Officers, and other Public
Servants, do hereby denounce any acts or agencies which promote the
aforementioned practices. All actions by the Federal Government and its
agents will conform strictly and implicitly with the principles
expressed within the United States Constitution, Declaration of
Independence, and the Bill of Rights.
There is no greater obligation or responsibility of any government
officer than to protect the rights of the people. Thus, any conduct
contrary to the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence,
or the Bill of Rights will be dealt with as criminal activity.
Paul Henry served
as a Florida Deputy Sheriff and State Trooper for over 25 years. During his
employment with the Florida Highway Patrol, he investigated numerous traffic
crashes and worked as a traffic homicide investigator. He later promoted to the
rank of Sergeant and supervised traffic homicide investigators and at the same
time, a squad of troopers. His final five years with the FHP prior to retirement
were in the Bureau of Investigations at the rank of Lieutenant, where in 2003 he
located one of Florida's most wanted fugitives that had been involved in the
1976 murder of a Florida Trooper and a Canadian Constable riding with the
Trooper.
After retirement
from law enforcement, Paul currently lobbies for pro-liberty political issues in
the Tallahassee area, to include the repeal of driver license (REAL ID) and red
light camera laws. He was the author of the Florida Motorist Rights Restoration Act, which if enacted would have affected how red light camera cases were
handled in court. He has researched the use of red light cameras in Florida
since 2011 and performed numerous analysis work based upon crash data,
operational, legal, and other concerns. He has spoken to citizen groups and
elected officials on the issue, and was instrumental in getting Collier County,
Florida to reconsider their use of the camera scheme and ultimately discontinue
it. He has authored a web page entitled “Red Light Camera Reference Page” that
contains his analysis work and other relevant information. Paul is an advocate
of constitutional law enforcement.
Just in case anyone in the North Florida/South Georgia area is wondering: We are Oath Keepers (O.K.). We AREpro-government. We are NOTanti-government. We are in favor of law and order. We abhor crime and tyranny. We are like minded Americans seeking positive change. We're a non-partisan gathering of former and actively serving military, law enforcement, firefighters and EMS -as well as those that have never served in official capacity. Our primary goal is to remind those actively serving of the sacred oath they swore: "...to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...". Oath Keepers is focused on actions. We are about doing. Doing is easier than talking about doing. Oath Keepers is grass roots (bottom-up). We share essential skill sets (eg. food, water, medical, communication, construction, pastoral, legal, etc.). Oath Keepers treasures the core values that America was built upon. We are inclusive, as
opposed to exclusive. We'll greet you with a smile and a handshake,
too... no secret handshake required. Oath Keepers promotes and encourages neighborhood watch groups. FYI: Weekend afternoon meetings at Talon Range are in our future so view their videos, print out and complete their test at home and bring it with you to save yourself time in the Pro-Shop. Feel free to drop in on a meeting (check the Calendar on the right) and bring
your skills and ideas. Also, bring others who may be interested in what we're doing. Thanks for your support, Ivan, an oath keeper
Oath Keepers from as far away as Pasco and DeSoto counties drove themselves to Tallahassee WITH NOT MUCH NOTICE at all. -Amazing show of support from OK at this rally. We were glad to have the opportunity to support fellow patriots. -We met up with some great speakers... such as Patrick Henry himself (Harry McKay, but I swear: a spiritual experience), Sheriff Mack, Billie Vaughn (father of Seal Team 6 Aaron Vaughn, killed in Afghanistan, again: WOW! What a strong message Pres.Obama REALLY doesn't want America to hear!), Pastor Chris Hall (great speech), Mike Austell (FL O.K. Pres. -patriotism personified), Karen Schoen (what a great non-"PC" firecracker!) and there were many others that made it a treat to listen to also. I hope our reps got the message, but we'll stay on them regardless.
A lot of us met up afterwards at Jalisco's for good mexican food and beer. -Good times!! Then everyone had to get back on the road. If you can get to these events (including these great after-rally dinners), DO IT!! It's the fuel we use to keep going and it lasts a good, long while. We look forward to meeting each other (and new faces) each and every time. -Good people and great times!! -Ivan, an oath keeper PS. Special thanks to Ray & Harry
Success is measured in many ways. Our objective was to “keep the ball in
play and moving forward”. And we certainly did! Due to global warming
(or NOT) and the resulting cold weather, the Capitol Authorities moved
our event inside. This was hugely appreciated by all. We had over 150
attendees who were strongly committed to protecting our 2nd Amendment in every way possible, including State Sovereignty. The 11 speakers included keynote speaker Sheriff Richard Mack.
All the speakers (you can read more about each of them on the Florida Citizens’ Alliance website) were very well received. Each of them was a great messenger for liberty. We will be posting individual videos on our website as soon we can get them edited.
Multiple media folks also attended. We know the Rally was reported in
Naples on the 5 o’clock TV news and this morning in Hillsborough County
on the radio. Hopefully it was reported in your area as well.
The only two downsides were that Senator Greg Evers just didn’t show
(and didn’t offer a reason) and that Governor Scott was unable to talk
to us briefly when we stopped by his office. We were not able to
schedule an official meeting ahead of this event, but we did alert his
staff and hoped he would take 5 minutes to affirm his personal
commitment to the Second Amendment and State Sovereignty under our
Constitution.
All in all, the Rally exceeded most of our expectations, but our work continues. Rep. Dane Eagle has committed to file the 2nd
Amendment Preservation (2AP) bill in the House, consistent with the
content provided to him in September. Once done, we will need Senator
Evers to honor his commitment to file it in the Senate, or find a
Senator who will champion it. Go to our website and urge them to file 2AP now!
In your local counties/districts (once the bill is filed), we will be asking you to:
Encourage your local legislators to co-sponsor the bill
Meet with your sheriff to ask the simple question “Are you ready to stand for Liberty?”
We will also be asking you to reach out to key legislative Committee
Members and Chairs to support this bill. Lastly, we will need strong
attendance at the key committee hearings as they are scheduled.
We’ll continue to provide you with updates and contact tools on the Florida Citizens’ Alliance
website. Please forward this email to anyone you know who might be
willing to stand with us in support of this effort. Encourage them to
subscribe to our mailing list right there on the website’s home page.
